Saylia's playable adaptation puts you on the ground as the Martians assemble their fighting-machines and the heat-ray turns the common to ash — flee with the crowds choking the roads out of London, or get close enough to see what the tripods are actually doing to the towns they take. How the invasion ends is not something anyone in it gets to arrange.
